The files on these pages are available in
various different formats. Some are editable
(i.e. dayslips should be personalised with
your name and phone number) while others are
not (i.e. The immediate income chart is the
same for everyone)
Where applicable there is a choice of formats
depeding on what software you use on your
system. Here is an explanation of the formats:
PDF - Portable Document Format
This is the Adobe Acrobat format used extensively online for the publishing
of newsletters, books, price lists etc. It is cross format which means
it should display the same on any system. We have used PDF files when
you will not need to edit the file. Your computer probably already
reads PDF files but if you have difficulty you can download a free
viewver from www.adobe.com
ODT - Open Document Text format
This is the OpenOffice.org format for word processor documents. OpenOffice.org
is a free office suite which we highly reccommend. You can download
a free copy from www.openoffice.org and
use it as an alternative to Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel,
Powerpoint etc.) It is very powerful but simple to learn.
DOC - Microsoft Word format
Word is one of the most prolific word processor applications and as such
you may well have it, or a compatible application, installed on your
computer. All editable templates are provided in this format.
ODS - Open Document Spreadsheet
format
This is the OpenOffice.org format for spreadsheet document (Excel). OpenOffice.org
is a free office suite which we highly reccommend. You can download a
free copy from www.openoffice.org and
use it as an alternative to Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Powerpoint
etc.) It is very powerful but simple to learn.
XLS - Microsoft Excel format
Excel is one of the most common spreadsheet formats but is very expensive.
Use XLS format if you already have Excel but otherwise you would do
well to get www.openoffice.org instead!
